Our Kelowna client is looking to add a PART-TIME HR & Benefits Coordinator to their team. In this newly created role, the HR & Benefits Coordinator will administer and support multiple HR functions across the business including, recruitment, benefits administration, training, health and safety, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, and thrives in a dynamic environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administering or assisting with the recruitment and interview process

• Administering or assisting with the new hire & onboarding process

• Assisting with the performance review and termination processes

• Overseeing Occupational health and safety processes

• Time and attendance tracking and submitting records to payroll

• Maintaining employee files to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Administering health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations

• Acting as a liaison between employees and insurance providers

• Resolving benefits-related problems

• Coordinating all employee incentive programs

• Maintaining new hire, employee, and absentee reports

• Answering employees’ inquiries and complaints

• Acting as a liaison between employees and management, as wells as between employees and benefit vendors/administrators

• Day to day administration and processing of the benefits, and HR administration functions

• Ensuring adherence to, and communication of laws, regulations, as well as the company’s programs and policies


REQUIREMENTS:

• A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, CPHR or in another related field, is an asset

• Ability to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of current HR management practices, employment standards, and federal and provincial legislation (e.g. employment laws

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of related human resources experience and must demonstrate a good understanding of the HR processes, procedures and policies

• Ability to deal with a diverse group of people in potentially adversarial situations using a calm, tactful, discreet, and effective approach

• Strong multitasking skills and be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Experience in creating organizational charts, reports, and other documents; and understanding of web-based recruiting tools and being able to function within online job posting boards

• Ability to be flexible and confident, as well as being able to work independently
