Our client, a reputable Commercial Real Estate Development company, is currently hiring a Construction Administrator. The company has multiple large scale construction projects on the horizon throughout Kelowna, and they are hiring an additional resource to assist with this increased work volume. This is a 6-month contract with a focus on commercial projects. This role will be integral to the team with the management of contractual and administrative aspects of the company's operations and providing support to the Director of Construction and the construction team.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist and maintain accurate project budgets and schedules, including change order values, on a timely basis in company systems.

• Oversee and perform construction administration duties on multiple projects.

• Facilitate clear and effective communication between the design team and contractors.

• Effectively communicate with all project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.

• General office administration.

• Track project progress and completion and prepare project documentation.

• This position will be office based with occasional opportunities to visit active sites.

• Project start-up procedures including site temp power, site phones, trailers, washrooms, Notice of Projects, and assist in safety document preparation.

• File set up (new project sets and as department requires).

• Coordinate and respond to Requests for Information between trades and contractors.

• Coordinate final inspections and submittals in order to receive the Occupancy/Temporary Occupancy Permit for the project.

• Other duties as required


REQUIREMENTS:

• 2 years or more of business administration, project administration, estimating, engineering or construction

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Windows (Outlook, Word, Excel), and Adobe Acrobat;

• Detail driven, adaptable, excellent time management skills, problem solving and planning skills.

• Demonstrated high attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

• Demonstrated team player with strong interpersonal skills.

• Strong English language communication skills both written and verbal.
