IT Field Service Technician - Part-Time

Our Kelowna based client is currently looking to hire for a Part-Time (approx. 25 hours a week to start) I.T Field Service Technician position. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in this role and have a strong knowledge of Windows OS. Experience on Desktop Support, Laptops, Servers, Printers, Hardware Support, and IMAC. POS experience is a plus but not required. The ideal candidate would have good communication skills and be extremely customer orientated and friendly.


Responsibilities:

• Promptly answers phone calls and responds to tickets, using Autotask

• Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems, resolves incoming service requests and alerts, including escalations and manufacturer support

• Approach technical issues with root cause discovery and resolution in mind

• Supports user account information including rights, security and systems groups

• Share newly acquired information with peers to improve support team capabilities

• Comply with internal security controls and procedures for customers

• Be willing to be mentored and trained by others, increasing your own knowledge and capabilities

• Provide remote and onsite technical support to our clients.

• Driving to client businesses for on sight support throughout the Okanagan – Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton.

• Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs

• Communicate with clients as required: keep them informed of incident progress; notify them of impending changes or agreed outages

• Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience in an IT role

• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or information technologies

• CompTIA A+ certifications an asset

• Cisco or Microsoft certifications an asset

• Familiar with personal computers/printers/wireless connectivity devices

• Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures

• A basic level of understanding of relevant technologies, solutions, troubleshooting and support

• Strong written and verbal professional communication skills

• Ability to communicate effectively and interact with diverse personalities

• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and handle interruptions.

• Self-motivated; able to perform duties without supervision; dependable; passionate about technology

• Enthusiasm for working in a team environment and a desire to help our customers grow their businesses by serving their IT needs

• Available to work extended hours including weekends and evenings when required

• Valid Driver’s License, a motor vehicle and motor vehicle insurance

• No criminal record

• Must be able to lift and/or move boxes or equipment up to 30 pounds/ 14 kg from the floor to a tabletop surface and from the car to the client’s desk.
